Pro-Sheehan vigil held here

Local activists back from Crawford

Cindy Sheehan, the mother of an American soldier who died in Iraq, has really stirred things up for President Bush. On Wednesday, August17, vigils were held all over the world to support Ms. Sheehan in her attempt to ask the President, "why did my child die in Iraq?" The Caller-Times published two articles on the subject.

Bring the Troops Home March, Crawford, TX:

Council supports troops in Iraq

More fluff from the Caller-Times and war-mongering city council, from April 16th. Susan Peeples' response:

I'm quoted, as Neal Falgoust called me yesterday. I'm disappointed in the story and he came close to misquoting me. Where he got "peace activist doubts motive", I'll never know. The resolution, also contained in the article, is meaningless tripe. See Item 3, aka "We support our economy".

County to consider resolution supporting the military

March 25th Caller-Times article about local officials' blatant end-around in "officially" supporting the president and the troops. This is after the Mayor and City Council rudely ignored STAP's proposed resolution for peace, and the Caller-Times encouraged the inaction, calling such efforts "a waste of the council's limited store of time and energy." Meanwhile, Iraqi children are being murdered by our forces using weaponry such as is being loaded onto Military Cargo Ships right here in our fair city.
